As of 2023, 95 countries worldwide have National Action Plans (NAP) for Resolution 1325. To see the action plans around the world, you can go to the map and download them.
Angola
Angola adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2017-2020.
Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2012 for the period 2013-2016.
Burundi
Burundi adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2017-2021. Burundi’s second NAP was preceded by another NAP, adopted in 2012 and implemented during the period 2012-2016.
Cameroon
Cameroon adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2018-2020.
Central African Republic
The Central African Republic (CAR) adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) for the period 2019-2022, preceded by one from 2014-2016.
Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa) adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2019-2022. The DRC’s second NAP is preceded by another NAP, adopted in 2010, without a specific implementation period.
Djibouti
Djibouti adopted its first National Action Plan 1325 in 2017.
Gabon
Gabon has developed a National Action Plan on women, peace and security for the period 2020-2023.
Gambia
The Gambia adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2012.
Ghana
Ghana adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2020 for the period 2020-2025. Ghana’s second NAP is preceded by another NAP, adopted in 2010, launched in 2012 and implemented during the period 2012-2014.
Guinea
Guinea adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2009 for the period 2009-2013.
Guinea-Bissau
Guinea-Bissau adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2010 for the period 2010-2011.
Ivory Coast
Côte d’Ivoire adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) for the period 2019-2023, which was preceded by a 2008-2012 NAP.
Kenya
Kenya launched its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2020 for the period 2020-2024. Kenya’s second NAP is preceded by another NAP, adopted in 2016 and implemented during 2016-2018.
Liberia
Liberia adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2019 for the period 2019-2023. Liberia’s second NAP is preceded by another NAP, adopted in 2009 and implemented during the period 2009-2013.
Malawi
Malawi adopted its first National Action Plan for the period 2021-2025.
Mali
Mali adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2019 for the period 2019-2023. Mali’s third NAP is preceded by two other NAPs, adopted in 2012 and 2015 and implemented during the period 2012-2014 and 2015-2017, respectively.
Mozambique
Mozambique adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2022.
Namibia
Namibia adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2019 for the period 2019-2024.
Niger
Niger adopted its second National Action Plan (NAP) for the period 2020-2024. It is preceded by a NAP adopted in 2016 for the 2016-2018 period.
Nigeria
Nigeria adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2017-2020. Nigeria’s most recent NAP is preceded by another NAP, adopted in 2013 and implemented during the period 2013-2017.
Republic of the Congo
The Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) developed its first NAP for the implementation of UNSCR 1325 for the period 2018-2022 and a second for the period 2021-2023.
Rwanda
Rwanda adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2022. Rwanda’s second NAP is preceded by another NAP adopted in 2009 and implemented during the 2009-2012 period.
Senegal
Senegal adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2011 for the period 2011-2015, and the most recent one for the period 2020-2024.
Sierra Leone
Sierra Leone adopted its second National Action Plan (NAP) for the period 2019-2023. It is preceded by a NAP implemented for the period 2010-2014.
South Africa
South Africa adopted its first National Action Plan for the period 2020-2025.
Sudan
Sudan adopted its first National Action Plan 1325 in 2020.
South Sudan
South Sudan adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2015 for the period 2015-2020.
Togo
Togo adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2011 for the period 2011-2016.
Uganda
Uganda adopted its third National Action Plan (NAP) in 2021 for the period 2021-2025. It is preceded by two others, for the periods 2008-2010 and 2011-2015.
Argentina
Argentina adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) on MPS in 2015 for the period 2015-2018.
Brazil
Brazil adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017, for the period 2017-2019.
Canada
Canada adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2017-2022. Canada’s second NAP is preceded by the first, which was adopted in 2010 for the period 2010-2016.
Colombia
Chile
Chile adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2015 for the period 2015-2018. This was preceded by another NAP adopted in 2009.
El Salvador
El Salvador adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2017-2022.
Guatemala
Guatemala adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017, but the NAP does not identify a specific implementation period.
Mexico
Mexico adopted its first 1325 National Action Plan in 2021.
Paraguay
Paraguay launched its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2015.
Peru
Peru adopted its first National Action Plan in 2021.
United States
The United States adopted its most recent Women, Peace and Security (WPS) action plan in 2019, for the period 2019-2023, in the form of the National WPS Strategy. The U.S. national strategy on women, peace and security was preceded by two National Action Plans (NAPs) adopted in 2011 and 2016 for the period 2011-2015 and 2016-2018, respectively.
Uruguay
Uruguay adopted its first National Action Plan for the period 2021-2024.
Afghanistan
Afghanistan launched its first National Action Plan (NAP) on women, peace and security in 2015.
Australia
Australia adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) for the period 2021-2031. It previously had a NAP for the period 2012-2018.
Bangladesh
Bangladesh adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) for the period 2019-2022.
South Korea
The Republic of Korea adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2021. Its previous NAP was adopted in 2014 and implemented during the period 2014-2018.
Philippines
The Philippines adopted its most recent national action plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2017-2022. The Philippines’ second NAP is preceded by another NAP, adopted in 2010 and implemented during the period 2010-2016.
Indonesia
Indonesia launched its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2014 for the period 2014-2019.
Solomon Islands
Solomon Islands adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2017-2021.
Japan
Japan adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2015 for the period 2015-2018 and its second NAP in 2019 for the period 2019-2022.
Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan adopted its first National Action Plan for the period 2022-2025.
Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2020. It previously adopted a NAP in 2013 and implemented it for 2013-2014.
Nepal
Nepal adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2011 for the period 2011-2016.
New Zealand
New Zealand adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2015 for the period 2015-2019.
Tajikistan
Tajikistan adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2019, for the period 2019-2022. Tajikistan’s second NAP is preceded by another NAP, adopted in 2014 and implemented during 2014-2018.
East Timor
Timor-Leste adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2016 for the period 2016-2020.
Albania
Albania launched its first National Action Plan (NAP) on MPS in 2018.
Armenia
Armenia adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2019 for the period 2019-2021.
Austria
Austria adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2012. Its previous NAP was adopted in 2007.
Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan developed a National Action Plan for the period 2020-2023.
Belgium
Belgium adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2017-2021. Belgium’s third NAP is preceded by two other NAPs adopted in 2008 and 2013 and implemented for the period 2008-2012 and 2013-2016, respectively.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia-Herzegovina adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018, for the period 2018-2022. Bosnia and Herzegovina’s third NAP is preceded by two other NAPs, adopted in 2010 and 2014 and implemented for the period 2010-2013 and 2014-2017, respectively.
Bulgaria
Bulgaria adopted its first National Action Plan, to be implemented during the period 2020-2025.
Croatia
Croatia adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2019 for the period 2019-2023. Croatia’s second NAP is preceded by another NAP, adopted in 2011 and implemented during the period 2011-2014.
Cyprus
Cyprus adopted its first National Action Plan in 2020, for the period 2021-2025.
Czech Republic
Czechia adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2017-2020.
Denmark
Denmark adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2020 for the period 2020-2024. Its fourth NAP is preceded by three others, for the periods 2014-2019, 2008-2013 and 2005-2007.
Estonia
Estonia adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2021 for the period 2020-2025. This NAP is preceded by two others, implemented for the periods 2015-2019 and 2010-2014.
Finland
Finland adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2021. Finland’s third NAP is preceded by two other NAPs, adopted in 2008 and 2012 and implemented during 2008-2011 and 2012-2016, respectively.
France
France adopted its latest National Action Plan (NAP) in 2021 for the period 2021-2025. France’s third NAP is preceded by two others, which were in place between 2015-2018 and 2010-2013.
Georgia
Georgia adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2020. Georgia’s third NAP is preceded by two other NAPs, adopted in 2012 and 2016 and implemented during 2012-2015 and 2016-2017, respectively.
Germany
Germany adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2021 for the period 2021-2024. Germany’s third NAP is preceded by two others, for the periods 2017-2020 and 2013-2016.
Iceland
Iceland adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2022. Iceland’s third NAP is preceded by two other NAPs, adopted in 2008 and 2013. The first NAP did not specify an implementation period, while the second NAP was implemented for the period 2013-2016.
Ireland
Ireland adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2019 for the period 2019-2024. Ireland’s third NAP is preceded by two other NAPs, adopted in 2011 and 2015 and implemented for the period 2011-2014 and 2015-2018, respectively.
Italy
Italy adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) for the period 2020-2024. Italy’s fourth NAP is preceded by three other NAPs, adopted in 2010, 2014 and 2016, and implemented for the periods 2010-2013, 2014-2016 and 2016-2019, respectively.
Kosovo
Latvia
Latvia adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2020 for the period 2020-2025.
Lithuania
Lithuania adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2011 and the second in 2020 for the period 2020-2024.
Luxembourg
Luxembourg adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2023.
Malta
Malta adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2020 for the period 2020-2024.
Moldova
Moldova adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2021.
Montenegro
Montenegro adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2017 for the period 2017-2018.
Netherlands
The Netherlands adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) for the period 2021-2025. The fourth NAP of the Netherlands is preceded by three other NAPs, implemented for the periods 2008-2011, 2012-2015 and 2016-2019.
North Macedonia
North Macedonia adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2013 for the period 2013-2015.
Norway
Norway adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2019 for the period 2019-2022. Norway’s fourth NAP is preceded by three other NAPs, adopted in 2006, 2011 and 2015 and implemented during 2006-2011; 2011-2015; and 2015-2018, respectively.
Poland
Poland adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2021.
Portugal
Portugal adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2019 for the period 2019-2022. Portugal’s third NAP is preceded by two other NAPs, adopted in 2009 and 2014 and implemented for the period 2009-2013 and 2014-2018, respectively.
Romania

Serbia

Spain

Sweden
Sweden adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2016 for the period 2016-2020. Sweden’s third NAP is preceded by two other NAPs, adopted in 2006 and 2009 and implemented during 2006-2008 and 2009-2012, respectively.
Switzerland
Switzerland adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2022. Switzerland’s fourth NAP is preceded by three other NAPs, adopted in 2007, 2010 and 2013 and implemented during the period 2007-2009; 2010-2012; and 2013-2016, respectively.
Ukraine
Ukraine adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2016 for the period 2016-2020, and the most recent in 2020 for the period 2020-2025.
United Kingdom
The United Kingdom (UK) adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2022. The United Kingdom’s fourth NAP is preceded by three other NAPs, adopted in 2006, 2010 and 2014 and implemented for the period 2010-2013 and 2014-2017, respectively.
MENA
Iraq
Iraq adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) on MPS in 2014 for the period 2014-2018, making it the first country in the MENA region to adopt a NAP. Its current NAP is included in the 2021-2024 schedule.
Jordan
Jordan adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2021.
Lebanon
Lebanon adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2019 for the period 2019-2022.
Palestine
Palestine adopted its most recent NAP for the period 2020-2023 and adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) for the period 2017-2019.
Tunisia
Tunisia adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in 2018 for the period 2018-2022.
United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates adopted its first National Action Plan in 2021.
Yémen
Yemen adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in December 2019 for the period 2020-2022.
