Since its creation, the UN has worked for world peace. In 2020, it issued Resolution 1325, a milestone in terms of the participation of women in the construction and maintenance of peace.

Resolution 1325 underlines the importance of women fully participating and on an equal footing in the prevention and resolution of armed conflicts and the establishment and consolidation of peace. Resolutions related to or associated with 1325 broaden and deepen different aspects of gender equality and the role of women in peace.

1325 National Action Plans (NAP)

By 2023, 95 countries in the world have National Action Plans (NAPs) of Resolution 1325.
Nine countries in the region have National Action Plans:

Argentina (2015), Brazil (2017), Chile (2015 and 2009), El Salvador (2017), Guatemala (2017), Mexico (2021), Paraguay (2015), Peru (2021) and Colombia (2023).
